Early July

Early July 6/1 just work, walk 16,000 steps (8 miles) as normal.  6/2 slept like 12 hours. Did not feel good or right somehow. Only at 8pm did I go to pool and swim 54 laps in crowded pool.  6/3 got up early. Felt good. Worked on front flat on Allez. Put on the bigger 25 or 26c tire (labeled as 28c). Rode toward Saluda. Camp Old Indian route. As it was nearing 95 degrees in Greenville today I was glad to be in the shade of the watershed. Met up with Kieth Owen and 2 others along the way, briefly. Got to Saluda and got water refilled. Oh yea back tire was a slow leak and I pumped it up more then it really blew out. Valve stem area Back on road and dark clouds appear. I hoped to get down the watershed before it let loose, but 10 minutes out of Saluda it opened up. I got soaked.  Keith was there under a tree at the state line. I waited with him till it let up. We went slowly down watershed and he went to his car at Mullinax Park. Around Tigerville the sun came out and it was hot.   A good 4 hour ride.  6/6 Friday. Run 3 miles in high heat but some shade. Later bike 13.6 miles on SRT w/ Kristen.  6/7 Saturday. Big 80 mile ride to Furman (hook up w/ Doug) then Caesars Head climb and back to Paris Mtn climb and home. 6400 ft of climbing. We started early but it got real hot at the end.    Fishing w/ Kristen later.  6/8 Sunday. Run 5 miles.  I am thinking more about going the route of Spinx Runfest marathon this Fall if my ankle holds up.
